Wire it to your phone.

One automation in the Shortcuts app fetches your wallpaper every morning and sets it while you sleep — today's marker moved, the past dimmed. It takes about three minutes, once.

First, get your wallpaper URL.

Your design travels as a URL. In the studio, press Copy URL in the top bar — then come back here and this step will hold it for you.

Build the automation.

  1. Give it a wallpaper to overwrite

    The Shortcut updates an existing photo wallpaper — it can't create one. On your iPhone, open Settings → Wallpaper → Add New Wallpaper, pick any photo, and add it as your Lock Screen. Tomorrow's run replaces the picture; the clock and widgets you choose here stay.

    Want it right from the first minute? Press Download PNG in the studio, save it to your photos, and use that.

  2. Create the daily automation

    Open the Shortcuts app and go to the Automation tab. Tap +, choose Time of Day, and pick an hour you're asleep — 5:00 AM is good — repeating Daily. Select Run Immediately (not "Run After Confirmation") and switch Notify When Run off. Tap Next, then New Blank Automation.

  3. Fetch your wallpaper

    Tap Add Action and search for Get Contents of URL. Tap its pale URL field and paste the wallpaper URL you copied. That's your whole design, regenerated fresh with every fetch.

  4. Set it as your Lock Screen

    Add one more action: Set Wallpaper Photo. Point its Wallpaper field at the wallpaper from step 1. Then expand the action and turn Show Preview off — otherwise iOS asks for confirmation every morning. Make sure Crop to Subject and Legibility Blur are off too, so nothing crops or blurs your calendar. Tap Done.

Prove it works — now, not tomorrow.

In the Automation tab, tap your new automation and run it once. Your lock screen should change within a few seconds. From here on it refreshes itself every morning — you never open anything again.

Good to know

If your phone is offline at run time
The fetch fails quietly and your lock screen keeps yesterday's design — one day behind, never broken. The next morning catches up on its own.
Two kinds of URL
Copy URL freezes the current design into the URL itself — redesign later and you'll want to paste a fresh one. A saved wallpaper's URL (…/api/w/…) stays live: edit in the studio and the phone follows, no re-pasting.
It didn't change?
Check that Show Preview is off and the automation says Run Immediately. iOS can skip a morning in Low Power Mode; it catches up on the next run.
